It can be difficult to stay positive in the times we live in. It’s so easy to find our fears and negative thoughts cropping up to sabotage our intention to stay focused on the positive things we want to manifest in our lives instead of giving in to thoughts about what we don’t want. That little voice that says things like “you can’t do it”, “you’ll probably fail”, “you’re not good enough”, “this isn’t going to work”…

Those negative thoughts and fears actually come from our sub-conscious mind in an attempt to keep things as they are – to keep us in our “comfort zone” – in fact, they are the mind’s attempt, based on millions of years of programming, to try to ensure our survival by keeping us where the mind thinks it is safe. But they are only thoughts, however powerful, based on old belief patterns buried so deep in our sub-conscious minds that most of the time, we don’t even know they are there.

Law of Attraction says that positive thoughts and feelings attract more positive thoughts and feelings – eventually attracting the greater abundance that we are all seeking in our lives, whether it be more wealth, greater health, successful career, loving relationships, spiritual connection…whatever it is that we wish to manifest in our life.

So, when those negative thoughts and feelings of fear suddenly show up, what can we do to dispel them and return to that positive state with happy thoughts and feelings? The only thing we really have any control over is what we think about. You can use the power of choosing your thoughts to dispel the negative thoughts and emotions. Using these practical tips can help to bring you back into the positive state.

1. Stop and just say “No” to the negative thoughts, “Enough”! Realize that the negative thoughts are just old fears and beliefs appearing. Then, think of ANY positive thought that you can manage. Even if it is a small one. Follow that with another good feeling thought, and then another, and another…soon the negative thoughts will be gone.

2. Stop and DO something that feels good to you. Something that makes you happy, that makes you smile. Like taking a walk in the fresh air, or opening the window, or playing with your pet, or hugging your children, or listening to your favorite music… Soon you will be feeling better.

3. Keep some kind of positive, enlightening, or uplifting material nearby to read, listen to, or watch. Make it a habit to spend some time each day with this material, even if it is just an uplifting daily quote from a source you like. This will keep you in touch with positive, affirming life energy and support you need to maintain your positive approach.

4. Turn off the news. Don’t worry, if anything big happens, you’ll hear about it! It seems the news these days is all about problems and troubles and focusing on them can make it harder to stay positive and happy. It is said that we are what we think about – so be careful what you choose.

5. Make a list of all the things and blessings that you already have, even if they are very simple things. Read it each day and add to it. It will help you appreciate and be grateful for the abundance you already have in your life, which, in turn, will attract more.

Use these 5 methods consistently and you will find it takes less and less time to dispel those negative thoughts when they arise. As you realize that you have control over them, you will be more alert to their appearance and can more quickly return to a positive mental state. More and more people are working from home these days. Either because they are tired of the 9-5 grind and have chosen to start a new venture, or because they have been laid off from their regular job, or just because they wish to make extra money to supplement their income.

Whatever the reason you find yourself working from home, there are ways to help make it a positive and rewarding experience for both you and for your family. Since your full-time or part-time livelihood now depends upon how successful you are in your work-at-home business, it is vital that you treat it like a real job – because it is. You are now the Boss – of Yourself! So hold yourself to the same standard your Boss would if you were working in a regular office.

It can be a great experience if you do a little planning. Here are some hints and tips to help you make each day a great one!

1 – Schedule Your Work Time – Set up a regular work schedule each day that you will follow and stick to it. During this time, treat it like the office! Plan work hours as well as break times. Get away from your desk for breaks, even if it’s only into another room or the deck.

Remember to schedule some time during the day for family, and let them know when that time is. If something unexpected comes up that you must deal with, just return to your regular schedule afterward. Ask your family and friends for support you and to respect your need for work time. Most likely they will be happy to help you if they feel you have made some regular time for activities with them.

2— Make Your Business A Real Office-Like Environment. Set-up a dress code (some people like to dress in standard office attire, others like jeans and t-shirts), answer the phone professionally, make lists of the tasks you need to do each day – then tackle the hardest one first! If you are not a list maker, become one.

3 – Set Up A Separate Work Area For Your Office. Be it a spare room, or a spare corner, outfit it with the tools and equipment you need for your work. A desk or table, an office chair and good lamp will help it feel like your workplace. Keep it organized and free of clutter. A simple file cabinet, some shelves and basic desk accessories can be very helpful in keeping things organized. Your work will flow much more smoothly once this is done.

4 – During Your Work Hours, stay away from TV, shopping trips, laundry, and other household chores. Schedule these activities at set times separate from your working hours. Enlist help from your family, if you can, with these tasks.

5 – Set Goals – Both short-term and long-term ones. Make them ones you can accomplish in the time frame you set. If a task turns out to take longer than you first thought, don’t get discouraged or just give up feeling that you failed, re-set your goals and reschedule those tasks for the next day. Make it a point to accomplish something related to your business each and every day. Even if it’s only a small thing, you will be moving in the right direction.

6 – Set Aside Some Time for Yourself – Avoid burn-out. Even if it’s only a little bit of time each day. Most home business owners put in long hours, but taking breaks or taking a day or night off from time to time to will help keep you mentally fresh. Have daily inspirational or motivational material that you read each day, even if only a daily quote from a source you like.

7 – If You Have An Internet Business, it can be especially hard to stay focused on your tasks because there are so many distractions online. Try not to follow each inviting looking ad or new site to investigate. Make a list of them and plan to come back later when your main work is done for the day.

8 – Take Care Of Your Health. Home business workers can have a hard time with this one because it’s easy to just to keep working and ignore the need for taking good care of yourself. Eat healthful foods as much as possible and try to get some exercise each day. Even if it is just a short walk. It will help you stay mentally more alert and emotionally grounded and better able to be creative with your business.

9 – Get Help When You Need It. Don’t try to do everything yourself. Your business will benefit if you stick to what you do best and let someone else help with things like those tax returns or legal advice.

10 – Never Give Up. A home-based business can be challenging and can take some time to develop to it’s full potential. So stick with it and yours can be a rewarding, successful and profitable business.

Have you ever found yourself getting really excited about something new that you wanted to do? Been really excited about doing it? Felt like you can make it a great success?

And then, suddenly, out of nowhere, you found yourself having second thoughts, doubts, and fears? Thinking thoughts like “I can’t do that.”, “What was I thinking?”, “I can’t be successful at that.” “I’m only dreaming, it’s not real.” “What will my family and friends think?”, “Better not try that.”, “I am being stupid again.”, or worse. Thoughts that stop you in your tracks and make you want to quit or change your mind?

It’s not uncommon. There is a science behind why and how this happens. Our subconscious mind is always on the alert for things that do not match the old patterns and beliefs already stored in its data bank. When you encounter something new and unknown, your subconscious mind goes into a kind of state of shock and the decision making process that follows will always attempt to pull us back into our known and safe comfort zones.

These old self-images and beliefs have been there for a long time and guide your behavior and decision making. They mostly remain hidden so you don’t even know they are there until something new comes along. Then your subconscious mind will try to reject the new experience and return you to the known and familiar. The mind isn’t trying to be difficult, it has just been programmed this way in order to maintain your safety and survival.

Giving in to this old programming will keep you thinking negative thoughts, which, in turn, will cause negative vibration, keeping you from being able to allow the new positive thoughts and experiences you desire to flow into your life. Remember, Law of Attraction says what you think about becomes Vibration which in turn attracts like Vibration, either negative or positive.

So, how do you get past that old programming? Try these hints and see if they don’t help.

The first thing is to recognize what is happening. Look closely at the thoughts that are arising. Analyze them with you conscious mind. Are they real concerns or just the old messages from your subconscious making their appearance?

One clue is the sudden shift in your thoughts and feelings when nothing has really changed. Another clue is that these are the same negative thoughts that you have heard before when you tried out something new. Just realizing what is happening by itself can help get you back on track.

Deliberately and consciously begin replacing those negative thoughts with any positive ones you can manage – even if they are small ones at first. Keep reminding yourself of the positive aspects and rewards of following through with your new goal. This may take some effort but keep at it and soon you will see results.

Get practical support from others. Talk about your concerns, get another perspective, find someone who can be there to offer help and support as you make progress with your new goal.

Take small steps of action. Get more information, do more research, ask more questions, whatever it takes to help you begin to move forward. Get practical facts to help you analyze the situation on a rational level.

Be patient with yourself – it may take some time to get past these old fears. But don’t give up. If it’s a goal you really want, keep moving toward it. This will help to overcome those old belief patterns and replace them with new positive thoughts and self-image that will attract more positive vibrations into your life.
